Location: 305 Court St. NE

Description: Although the previous tenants relocated a few blocks east, the Pearce Building on Court Street and Commercial will not be vacant for long.

Stefani Art Gallery will open in March in downtown Salem.

"With Stefani Art Gallery, I am proud to continue the deep foundation my late husband, Richard Stefani, established here in Salem," owner Christina Stefani said. "We are honoring his creative legacy in the most meaningful way."

Who was Richard Stefani?

Richard Stefani was a photographer known internationally for his portrait and fine art landscape photography. Christina Stefani is a contemporary abstract artist who works with oil, acrylic and mixed-media paintings. Stefani Photography/Stefani Gallery was once located on the corner of Liberty and Lincoln streets SE near Bush's Pasture Park.

She said the gallery will be a living tribute to her husband's vision and passion for the arts.

"Through carefully curated exhibitions, innovative programs, and a welcoming space for artists and art lovers alike, we’ll uphold the belief that art is a powerful force that speaks to us all," she said.

What will Stefani Art Gallery feature?

The gallery will feature original art, fine art photography, limited edition prints, sculpture and textile art. Services will include public exhibitions and viewings, private viewings, commercial and residential art consulting, graphic design, logos, branding and marketing.

Stefani Art Gallery taking over former Winslow Boutique in downtown Salem

The building on the corner was previously occupied by Winslow Boutique, a local clothing and home goods shop. Winslow Boutique moved a few blocks east to 455 Court St. NE to the renovated former Whitlock's Vacuum & Sewing Center.

Stefani said it was important for her to have the gallery in the heart of downtown Salem.

"The downtown area is alive with energy and possibility, especially with those beautiful white lights in the evenings, and it felt like the perfect way to give back to the community that embraced us," she said. "The moment I walked into the Pearce Building at the corner of Court and Commercial and saw its soaring ceilings, beautiful hardwood floors, and sunlight flooding through the windows, I knew it was the place where the next chapter of our story would unfold."

She said she is excited about the quality and depth of artists signed on to the gallery and has a few openings left. The call for artists is open until Feb. 15 at stefaniartgallery.com/submissions.

What will Stefani Art Gallery' hours be?

The gallery will be open 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday, with private viewing by appointment and extended hours during exhibitions.
